Grupo Calvo takes part in the international Sustainable Development in the Food and Beverage Industry Summit
Grupo Calvo was the only Spanish company to participate alongside major brands including IKEA, Coca-Cola, Danone and Nestle in the panel of food and beverage industry experts gathered in Amsterdam to lay out their commitment to responsibility. The company presented its responsible procurement management system and waste valorisation project as the case study for global industry executives and experts.
This award recognizes the effort dedicated by the Spanish company to carrying out optimal deployment of its strategy in order to ensure company growth and include initiatives aimed at improving sales, innovation and profitability throughout the organization.
Grupo Calvo has added the MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) sustainable fishing blue seal to its range of Ecolinea tuna, thereby making it the first tropical canned tuna bearing the MSC label to be marketed in Spain.
Grupo Calvo, in keeping with the commitment undertaken in 2016 to annual publication of a document that describes the company’s performance and main impacts associated with its activities, has presented its Annual Report 2017.
Grupo Calvo took part in creating the SDG Sectoral Guide: Agri-Food Sector. Led by the Spanish Network of the Global Compact, the purpose of the publication is to examine the areas in which this industry has the greatest impact in order to identify potential challenges and business opportunities linked to the Sustainable Development Goals.
